Questions
Ideally a maternity session would take place between 33-36 weeks. This timing usually ensures a nicely prominent bump, while at the same time making sure you're not getting too uncomfortable during the session itself.
I like to schedule a newborn session about 10 days after your due date. This timing gets us to having a session 7-15 days after baby is born, which is perfect for making sure baby is still nice and sleepy and easily touched without waking during their session.
Because of the personalized experience and the possibility of baby changing the plans on me, I limit the number of sessions I book each month. In order to guarantee your session I recommend booking a tentative date as early as possible. Once your session is confirmed in my book, the date can always be changed if baby arrives dramatically early or late.
To reserve your date, we'll need a contract as well as a deposit. And if something comes up and you need to change your date, you can always just let us know!
All of the maternity gowns as well as newborn outfits, props, hats, backdrops etc are all provided and included in your sessions. If you are worried about what to wear for yourself for the newborn session I usually recommend a light, solid neutral colour, also, all family shots during a newborn session are shot from the waist up, so don't stress about jeans! Come comfortable, if that means leggings or joggers than by all means!
If you have an outfit you love or an item of sentimental value you are welcome to bring it along to your newborn session.

What to Expect at your newborn session
If I had a nickel for every time....
Ok but, for real, please don't stress about bringing your other children. We have wifi we can give you, space for some small toys, and lots of space to roam outdoors with your partner if they need to.
Don't worry about your kids being a little chaotic. As a mom of 3 under 10, I am well versed in capturing even the busiest of little ones.
Within a few weeks of your session, you'll receive a link to a digital gallery that will allow you to download high resolution images. The gallery is set up to allow you to download the correct amount of images included in your collection and shows you where they've saved on your device.
The gallery is also set up to make ordering prints, canvases and other keepsakes even easier than it was to order those adorable matching photo outfits at Old Navy. All of the technical details are taken care of, so all you have to do is "add to cart".
